The Committee on Banking and insurance moves to amend the bill
on page 2, after the enacting section, after line 11, by inserting
the following:
"ARTICLE 26A. WEST VIRGINIA LIFE AND HEALTH INSURANCE GUARANTY
ASSOCIATION ACT."
On page 11, section 3, line 18, by striking all of subdivision
(III), and inserting in lieu thereof the following:
"(III) $500,000 for basic hospital, medical and surgical
insurance or major medical insurance; or"
On page 15, section 5, after line 17, by adding a new
subdivision, designated subdivision "(4)", to read as follows:
"(4) "Basic hospital, medical and surgical insurance or major
medical insurance" means accident and sickness insurance subject to
the provisions of articles fifteen and sixteen of this chapter and
benefits provided by article twenty-four of this chapter, but
excludes any accident and sickness insurance in which the medical
care is secondary or incidental to other benefits and also excludes
insurance included within the definition of excluded benefits set
forth in subsection (f), section one-a, article sixteen of this
chapter."
And to renumber the remaining subdivisions accordingly;
And
On page 22, section 5, line 13, by striking subdivision (22)
and inserting in lieu thereof the following:
"(13)(23) "Health insurance" means accident and sickness
insurance as defined in subsection (b), section ten, article one of
this chapter and benefits provided pursuant to articles twenty-four
and twenty-five of this chapter."
